Welcome to the Covington Community Garden

Dedicated to providing food and teaching sustainable gardening and nutrition for all.

The world is changing, and the Covington Community Garden wants to be a part of that change for the better, through providing opportunities for youth and adults, and allowing easy access to healthy, fresh, and nutritional produce.

What We Do

Local Schools and Youth Groups

The Boys & Girls Club, Students from St. Paul's School, Pine View Middle 4-H Club and Science Classes, and children from the St. Tammany Health Network Parenting Center come to volunteer and participate in educational activities. Local Scout troops helped construct parts of the garden to reach their badge requirements.

Education & Nutrition Information for the Public

The Covington Community Garden is part of an initiative started with local government and the LSU AgCenter to provide education on nutrition and dietary information. Numerous seminars and hands-on demonstrations are held thoughout the year.

Locally Grown Food for All

The garden contains numerous types of vegetables, edible flowers and fruits. It is open to the public, and that means you (yes, you!) are welcome to come in and help yourself to all you need.
